I build outdoor quality cedar furniture. After trying the 8x3 screws, these are the only screws I will use.

I purchased these screws in 2005 to repair an exterior plant shelf. Three years later I had to repair the shelf again due in part to the significant deterioration of the screws. Given Colorado's dry climate versus the advertised resistance to 500 hours of salt spray, I expected these screws to last far longer. As a point of comparison exterior screws I used on a deck project during the same time frame have shown little sign of wear.
Editor's Note: If plant fertilizers were used for the plants there is a possiblility that a chemical reaction occured that contributed beyond the tested limit for salt spray.

I used about 1500 #8x3"s on 2x6 kiln dried pine exterior deck this Woodmaster screws are easy to drive and easy on your screw gun, if lumber is not perfectly flat use clamps because these screws will not draw tight.
