I just ordered this to use it as a centering guide for my router base plate and setting up my router table base plate for drilling the router mounting holes. I just cut down a 1/4" rod and chucked it up in the router and I had a quick cheap centering system.

I ordered some template bushings and "assumed" they came with the retaining collar [lock nut]. OOPS. Make sure to order these if you are buying the template bushings separate.
