Safety Tips:
It's easy to prevent mishaps if you take a few simple precautions.
1) Rockler recommends using 1/2'' shank router bits whenever possible.
1/2'' shanks provide better stability with less vibration to produce a smoother
cut and longer cutter life. 2) Make multiple light passes rather than one heavy cut. 3) Install your router bit so that 90% of the shank is inside the
collet. Here's a rule of thumb: fully insert the bit, then pull it back
1/16 to 1/8 of an inch. 4) Use a router table whenever possible. 5) When using large diameter bits, reduce the RPM of your router.
Then test your set-up on scrap lumber. 6) Always follow your router manufacturer's recommendations.

Customer Rating:
The bit worked beautifully. I did have some problems that were related but not the fault of the bit. I would recommend getting the 1/2" shank bit. The 1/4" does the job but didn't feel solid. The bit was hard to adjust in my rounter and even though the cut was excellent the pieces were difficult to fit and I never could get the bit adjusted to the right fit. But the bit itself, which is what we're talking about, made perfect cuts with no tear out or burning. I do think there was play in my rounter that I couldn't do anything about and this caused most of the problems. I'm going to purchase the 1/2" shank bit and put it in a different router and I think that will solve my problem.

This is a great set for "assembly" tongue-and-groove with a very tight fit. I've even made simple rail/stile/panel doors for a bath vanity.
Two negatives: The set doesn't come with instructions and includes some extra shim washers that I have yet to figure out how or why to use; I see no way to buy replacement cutter heads, and I damaged one cutter accidentally which will force me to buy the whole set again.
Editor's note: Extra shim washers are included in order that one can vary the sizing of a cut if needed.
"Thank you for your exceptional service. I ordered on a Sunday, received an e-mail on Monday telling me the order had shipped, and it was at my front door on Tuesday. Great products and great service." -
