Double Locking Bi-Fold Door Hinge

This hinge stabilizes bi-fold doors by locking in two positions. Automatically locks flat, so doors remain open, or locks shut when doors are folded to eliminate bounce back. Minimum stile width is 1-1/8'' . Hinge measures 2-1/2'' square.

4) Submitted by SC, from Chandler, AZ on 10/4/2008 Customer Rating: We have an 8' pantry that faces into a breakfast nook. The pantry has a small TV on a slide out. The TV would not slide out enough to see around the right hand door and couldn't be viewed while in the adjacent kitchen. After looking in vain for a 270 overlay hinge for a face frame cabinet we went with the bi-fold hinges. The pantry doors now fold back behind the TV.

Because of weight, the usual 3 hinge set up was too weak and the top hinge self destructed. I added 2 more hinges to each side. Everything seems to be better now. These hinges are well built and were the original ones used, just needed to add aditional ones to compensate for the weight of the doors. Most bi-fold doors are very light, these were not.

7) Submitted by Bob Beswick, from Victor, NY on 12/16/2007 Customer Rating: The hinges do lock in the positions that I use them (fully opened and fully closed). I used them with 270 degree hinges so that when the cabinet is opened the doors fold close to flat against each other then swing around to the side of the cabinet. If the doors float away from the side of the cabinet it will be the fault of the 270 degree hinges and not the bi-fold. So far they are working fine.
