That machine does a good job, but I have some large tools that exceed the size limits. The Honing Guide very neatly allows me to sharpen all my larger edged tools. Bought two, one for me and one for my son.

What is better yet is I made the purchase during free shipping days which added even an extra bonus. Oh and by the way it was half the price of a local competitor!

5) Submitted by Aaron on 7/27/2009 Customer Rating: Arrived in good shape - the wheel operated very smoothly and it clamped tightly. As the other reviewers said, it works great for wide/plane blades. Although it looks off for chisels, it worked really well on mine (Irwin Marples). You do have to be careful to hold it correctly while sharpening, but it's not very hard to do that. overall, this is the best $10 I've spent on sharpening so far. A huge improvement over the jig I built myself.

6) Submitted by Jeff, from Sturgis, SD on 4/21/2009 Customer Rating: I'm not much of a hand at sharpening but on the first chisel I got very good (for me) results. It's not automatic and takes a bit of setup and getting used to but for the price it's a dandy.
