JET Variable Speed Mini Lathe

New variable speed mini lathe allows for quicker speed changing. Features include 1/2 HP totally enclosed fan cooled motor, chrome-plated handwheel, quick cam locks and 2" ram.

Shown at right with optional bed extension Extension increases working distance between centers to 39-3/8'' (Only 14'' normally) Heavy-duty cast iron lathe bed ensures stability and minimal operating vibration. Heavy-duty cast iron headstock and tailstock provide rigidity, strength and years of trouble-free operation. Quick-release levers allow easy and accurate tool rest and tailstock positioning. 1/2 HP totally enclosed fan cooled motor powers variable spindle speeds from 500 to 3,900 RPM. Removable safety toggle switch eliminates accidental operation. Convenient adjustment handle easily tilts motor while changing speeds. Standard equipment includes 6" tool rest, live center, 3" face plate, safety goggles, spur center and tooling knockout. Jet Mini Lathe - Optional Stand Constructed of heavy-duty steel tubing for additional support. Specially designed V-style legs allow more room under the lathe for maneuvering. Adjustable height to accommodate all turners. Mounts directly to your Jet Mini Lathe.

He can't say enough GREAT things about it. I like how quiet it is. He has told everyone that wants a mini to get this model even if they have to wait longer to have enough $. Hopefully I will be able to get the bed extension and extension stand. What an excellent machine and a happy husband.

It's quiet, no vibration and a pleasure to run. From pens to Calls, to spindle work and bowls. I have yet to find something I am not able to turn with it. If I use the full size lathe, it's to bring the work down to size. Then it gets moved to my Jet. A hard worker, worth every penny and a welcome to any shop. I would give a thumbs up to anyone wanting to buy one. Good work Jet.

Simply put, there is not a better lathe in this class anywhere else. The lathe is a rock solid machine, it's centers are dead on center,no vibrations. It is hard to belive one can do so much with a lathe designated as a mini lathe. Since I have had this in my shop I have not turned on another tool in weeks. It is very addicting turning all kinds of things (pens, bowls etc.) This thing is great and exceeds all expectations! I am not looking into the bed extension to turn table and chair legs. Stop looking and start turning!
