I built this for my daughter for Christmas. Luckily I started in October. This is a very tough project due to the size of the pieces and the degree of accuracy that is needed for it to all go together properly. I also found the plans difficult to follow at times. I made this out of cherry, with maple drawer sides. Matching the grain as suggested in the plans is well worth the effort. Plan on spending a small fortune on hardware for this.

These plans are very difficult and hard to follow. They also took me longer than one weekend to do although I did build two. I made mine out of oak and also used regular hinges. I also used different necklace holders that were one third the cost. I did use some of the other hardware that was recommended. I also have to say that I am not an everyday woodworker so that also made if tougher for me. I had good luck with all of my cuts just make sure to do lots of double checking also you need some pretty good tooling which I had to use someone elses to do my job. Hope this helps, I was doubtful when I looked at these and my project turned out good but it does take time and patients. Good luck.

Very poor plans. I had to redraw the the entire project. The barrel hinges are not a good choice for these doors , I plan on using regular hinges. Also some of the dimensions not correct.

This was a great project, but requires a bit of experience. The plans were straight forward, [] except I'm still searching for the glass inserts so I can complete it for my wife.

I purchased the plans about 1 month ago. I have to say I was disappointed. The plans were not very clear to me and I have spent alot of time making assumptions as to how things were supposed to go together. This has caused me to have to remake several pieces. I don't think even an expert woodworker could complete it in a "weekend". By the way I'm still not done. My wife jokes that she might get it by christmas.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one to have problems with this plan. I am by no means an excellent woodworker, but these plans are a bit difficult to comprehend. Some of the parts are not dimensioned properly, ie. drawer parts were switched on sizes. Read the plans through carefully, and cut parts only as needed. I cut all of the parts first, then started assembly. Big mistake. I burned up $100.00 worth of oak before I grew very frustrated and threw it all in the burn pile.
