Quickly and accurately sharpen scrapers at either a 45- or 90-degree angle.
Includes flat Nicholson file, durable extruded aluminum jig, hardened steel burnishing pin, and woodscrews for mounting the jig to a sturdy support.
Keeping a sharp edge on your scrapers is the key to making them work. But if you've ever tried to sharpen a scraper by hand, you know it can be a challenge.
Our Scraper Sharpening Jig makes the process of sharpening and burnishing nearly foolproof. You can quickly and accurately sharpen scrapers at either a 45 degree or a 90 degree angle. (45 degrees makes a sharper burr that is perfect for the times when you need a more aggressive cut, for example, to remove planer marks.)
The Scraper Sharpening Jig is manufactured from durable extruded aluminum, and it's anodized to provide a smooth, corrosion-free surface.
The jig holds a flat Nicholson file (included) and has easy to follow guides to help you maintain the correct angle throughout the sharpening process. There's even a hardened steel burnishing pin with an angled rest for the scraper so you can roll a perfect burr every time.
We also include woodscrews so you can mount the jig to a sturdy support, and detailed instructions to guide you, step-by-step, through the process.

Customer Rating:
Well, I a jig is not really necessary to adequately sharpen a scraper at 90 degrees, but I've found this jig is very easy to use and effective in sharpening scrapers that are sharpened to 45 degrees. And if you haven't used a scraper before, you must start using one. The scraper is easy to master with just a little practice and it leaves your surface as smooth as glass -- better than hours of sanding in a fraction of the time.
