This is a great concept which is why I bought some, but I have not had much success using them, because they do not break easily. If the portion you wanted to break off was hanging out after assembly, then you could use a pliers to snap it off, but I usually use them in a blind hole in a drawer or door pull. How are you supposed to snap them off without deforming them?
Editor's note: using a side cutter to start the crease at the desired segment may be useful before using the pliers to twist off the end.
