Safety Tips:
It's easy to prevent mishaps if you take a few simple precautions.
1) Rockler recommends using 1/2'' shank router bits whenever possible.
1/2'' shanks provide better stability with less vibration to produce a smoother
cut and longer cutter life. 2) Make multiple light passes rather than one heavy cut. 3) Install your router bit so that 90% of the shank is inside the
collet. Here's a rule of thumb: fully insert the bit, then pull it back
1/16 to 1/8 of an inch. 4) Use a router table whenever possible. 5) When using large diameter bits, reduce the RPM of your router.
Then test your set-up on scrap lumber. 6) Always follow your router manufacturer's recommendations.

Customer Rating:
This was my first set of rail and stile bits and I am not disappointed. The contour of the two bits are identical and they produce good close fitting parts. I purchased the setup block and had no problem setting up the bits. Good addition to my tool set.

These bits make great joints with no gaps or play. These bits are also much quieter than my other sets. The optional set up jig is well worth the money.

Bits cut well. Problem with these bits are the 1" height to reach the bearing - a problem if you want to do curved rails on common 3/4" stock.
Editor's note. When cutting straight pieces one will use the fence on a router table as a guide rather than the bits bearing. When cutting curved rails for an arched door one will run the bit's bearing against the arched template one is using for the door top.

This product performs very well. It makes good fitting doors. The only down side is that they do not come in a box to protect them from rubbing together
