Safe for use on children’s toys and furniture. A completely non-toxic finish when cured.

Applies easily like an oil finish, yet looks like a varnish. Use on bare or stained wood surfaces.

I initially found this Toy Maker Finish when I searched for a safe finish for my first grandchild's crib. I applied the finish using the 'wet sand' method and applied 3 coats. It went on easily, clean up was simple and it dried beautifully and quickly - no brush marks, air bubbles or runs. Unfortunately, we weren't able to use the crib so I packed it away and don't have pictures to share. I made a frame for a piece of stained glass a few weeks ago and used the Toy Maker finish on it, also using the 'wet sand' method. It turned out great. This finish is a great product, moderately priced and easy to work with. I highly recommend it to anyone who has a project to finish, especially projects that children will be exposed to. Thanks Rockler!

My dad had some black walnut in his garage, it was given to him buy my grand father when he cut wood from his land in Georgia 40 years ago. My dad held on to it waiting to make something special with the last few pieces left. He passed away a few years ago and my mom passed in July so as we cleaned out the garage we found it. My husband held on to it because he knew it was very special wood. When we heard our daughter was expecting our first grand child my husband knew it was what the wood was waiting for, Sophia’s baby cradle. When we gave it to our daughter at her baby shower the look on her and her husbands face was all we needed to know that we made the right choice when it came to the finish because it turned out so beautiful. We were so glad we searched and found your site with the Toy Maker's Finish. It was so perfect and easy to apply, no worries about brush lines, he used 3 coats and the finish was flawless. This heirloom piece will be around for a long time still looking beautiful. He will be using it on many more projects not just baby things. Thanks, Tom and Sue Klein
