Sour Grapes

I really don't understand why this product isn't rated with 5 stars. The reviewers that dragged down the rating made no sense. I give it five, a really useful, well designed product. I can knock Rockler for a few products, but not this one.

So easy

Have used for putting up ceiling panels, fascia, and trim on my porch! Works so well when doing those one person jobs.

Important tool for serious handyman

I want to second the very positive reviews for the Fastcap 3rd Hands. I have been a paid handyman, working alone for 10 years. I bought a set of four of these when I got my first job hanging a whole floor of crown molding. They work great, not only supporting the molding in place, but also are strong enough to flex 5 1/2" molding into place in a non-level ceiling. Since then, I have used them many times for crown molding, but also to hang drywall on the ceiling without a helper (I built a step ladder based rack to tilt the drywall into place and the Fastcaps to hold it there while I screwed it in. Not renting a drywall lift for the job paid for the whole set of Fastcaps. As regards upper cabinets, Fastcap also makes shorter versions that will support upper cabinets from the floor or from a counter top. Finally, my long Fastcaps have a magnet in the top end that allow you to pinch a piece of plastic to the top using a metal disc. It doesn't mention that here; hopefully it is included, but if it isn't you can probably fabricate something like that.
