I bought 2 of these just for the Lefty/Righty feature. Turns out it's very well made and comfortable to hold! I love, as do my 59 year old eyes, the clear incremental markings, both left and right.
The belt clip is great, but whoever thought of putting a pencil sharpener on this thing should win the Nobel Prize!
I have shopped for many years at Rockler. Online and in store. It's always a quality product for a very reasonable price!
I highly recommend this tape measure!
The best tape measure I've ever owned

This product is an exceptional value. It reads clearly in virtually any light from any angle. After using this, my other four tape measures are dead to me. I'll dig around my shop looking for this one even if I can see one of my others. It's kinda ridiculous, but I like this product that much.

I've gone though a lot of different measuring tapes and as you well know we all have our preferences when it comes to retractable measuring tapes. I've used Starrett's, Harbor Freight, Stanley's, Lufkin...etc.
What I love about this tape is not the fractions or the left and right feature (I really like those too) but having the 1/16th" marked in read against the white back ground, the readability is excellent and I can't tell you how much it has improved my cuts and measurements. My layout goes so much faster now compared to using all my previous tapes. It's worth for that feature alone.
Harbor Freight has a fraction tape as well and it works fine but this one is so easy to read the 16th's, that my Starrett and Stanley's just sit on the shelf collecting dust
Having the little white space on the side of the case to write down a quick measurement has been helpful as well for my short memory.
Lefty/Righty Tape Measure

Nice product. Looks good and provides an excellent way to always have your tape measurement available to you, regardless of which way (right or left) you are measuring something. However, I wish they had reversed the order in which the measurements are provided on the tape. As the measurements are currently arrayed, the measurement you need always appears along the BOTTOM edge of the tape. To use the measurement you want at the TOP of the tape, you simply look at the top of the tape where the same measurements are given, but at that position the measurements are upside down and backwards. Not the biggest problem in the world, but, darn it, it would have been so simple to have reversed the order.

I like the scale and the compact size. I used it for about a month and then discovered the tab at the end of the tape was not calibrated correctly. When you pull the tape using the tab from the end of the board, it was 1/8" short over 12". I compared it against two other tapes and against a steel rule to confirm it was this tape. Useless.Editor's note: Our customer service team at 800-376-7856 will be able to assist you with a replacement for the defective tape Bernie.
