I'm a beginner woodworker and had this saw a little more than a month ago. The control of the cut with this "pull saw" was a delightful experience. The cut is so thin and clear that it has helped me to gain confidence in my cuts with samll parts. I wouldn't be without a "pull saw" from now on. I will experience other Japanese saws for other uses. Only thing is that you most be careful using it because it's almost impossible to sharpen it. The teeth are hard and will hold it's sharpness for a long time. But if you use it without care on hard woods, they could break and then you will need a replacement blade, I already sent for mine, just in case.
I really recomend this buy to all woodworkers that haven't used these saws, they are just great.

I've been using Dozuki saws for about 5 years now. They give you precise control over your cut and are by far, the best saw that I have found for working the small strips necessary for cedar strip canoes, kayaks and my current Teardrop Trailer project!!! I would recommend buying a second replacement blade if you have demanding needs, particularly with hardwoods.

This saw worked excellently for me as a beginner woodworker. It was adequately sturdy and precise to help me grow in skills and learn about dovetails and other handsaw joinery. I keep on finding new ways to use it. I purchased it a year ago and bought a replacement blade after a year of active use. It was still sharp and effective, but was missing a few teeth from frequent use on hardwoods.

If you plan on using this saw on hardwoods forget it, the teeth crumble with very little use. Seeing how I seldom work with softwoods this saw was a bad purchase.
"Folks, I believe the first order I received from Rockler was 1993 when I built my house. Been back numerous times for myself and others. Here I am again.
Great job! Never been dissatisfied. Wish you had a walk-in store Virginia East Coast. Thanx Don" -
