I started with the plans for the Home Entertainment Center (#37741) and made a few changes. I made the center section larger for a plazma TV (no doors) above an electric fire place. Side cabinet upper doors have 3/4" Antique Pewter flat mesh instead of glass. Also added outer 'wings' for open shelves. The original plans were easy to follow and modify. I ordered all the hardware from Rockler and it worked very well.

I modified the plans to fit our new TV. I did not include the cabinet doors. The plans were detailed enough to use and modify to fit my needs. This was the first time that I ever built paneled doors and it was fun. I am looking for another project to build. I used oak plywood and oak trim. All materials cost me $700.00. Go out and price a piece like this made of good wood. Thanks for the plans!

My first disappointment was it did not give board foot of lumber and total sheets of plywood. Had to do a lot of adding and calculating to get my numbers. It is a very old plan with the depths and widths of plans I am now in the process of modifying to fit 46" LCD set, and to give it more detail to make it more attractive and appealing.

I found that the listed parts for this project was difficult to follow listing of parts. A search by part number was not a help. Parts listed were not found. But substituted parts were available. Min detail on drawings. Lots of guess work.
