I bought this on clearance a while back mainly for the fine Arkansas stone, but I now use it on 90% of my sharpening. I have a couple really nice Norton's, but this is such a slick system my Norton's are collecting dust.

The instructions accompanying the stones indicate it's primary purpose is to sharpen knives. I use mine to sharpen my chisles and planes, but, in order to maintain strict control of the item being sharpened, I built a box with the top being a platform with the stones level with the platform surface ( made from countertop).This way my chisel stays flat on the stones. I get excellent results, nice hone for a novice.

Did not purchase but received as christmas or birthday gift from my crew at work several years ago. It worked great when I got it and only used it for pocket knives and it continues to work on my new set of chisels. Excellent product. Would have rated it a five but the little plastic angle device leaves some room for improvement.

I found the three stone sharpener stones to be rounded, making a good edge is hard to accomplish when trying to sharpen chisels. In my opinion this is one of the worst products I have ever purchased.
