I am pretty new to woodworking, I had it in high school but other than that pretty new. I needed something that would be really easy to use and get a razor sharp edge on chisels and planes. This guide did a really good job it was simple to use and worked perfect!

I already owned a Work Sharp machine. That machine does a good job, but I have some large tools that exceed the size limits. The Honing Guide very neatly allows me to sharpen all my larger edged tools. Bought two, one for me and one for my son.

I have tried other devices that cost much more that haven't worked half as well as this honing guide. What is better yet is I made the purchase during free shipping days which added even an extra bonus. Oh and by the way it was half the price of a local competitor!
