If you are making drawer fronts using 1/2 in stock for the drawer and 3/4 inch stock for the face front, that adds up to 1 1/4 in, which is the standard length of the 8-32 bolt that comes with most drawer knobs. Add to that, some knobs recess their threads 1/4 in (not flush with the back of the knob) and your at 1 1/2 inches and thus need a 1 3/4 inch bolt to secure many knobs. That's why I bought this product.
