I used two of your lid supports along with a full length piano hinge for a 42"x24"x3/4" lid and, after some adjustment due to trim, it worked great. The box stores have a similar, lower quality item that didn't work. My Granddaughter will love her new toy box.

Excellent product! Box (made out of red cedar) was 48" long and the lid weighed approxmately 17lbs. We used (1) right side mount, 95-125 Inch lbs. and (1) left side mount, 95-125 Inch lbs., Lid Supports an works flawlessly. The lid stays where you put it. We have a 2-1/2 year old boy that plays inside of anytime he is outside. He keeps his outdoor toys in the box so it gets a lot of use. The lid will stay in place for as long as you leave it there. I never have to worry about it accidentaly falling down. My only complaint is that the supports do not have a few elongated slotted holes, which would allow you to adjust the support up and down for intial intall. You have to be certain that they are perfectly set in place the first time. Otherwise the Lid Supports works flawlessly and I highly recommend to anyone. I will defintely buy again for my next project.

These hinges work as advertised. I had a 33"x33" (3/4 birch ply) top to my built-in bench for toy storage. It had hinges already, but I needed them to stay open like everyone else here. First I thought the pneumatic actuators for storm doors- it works for a little bit but it didn't make the lid stay open. It closed smoothly, though. I still wanted a better solution and luckily, I found these! In the pic, note the defeated actuators hanging down ready for removal and all the holes from the drilling! Grrr! Wish I found this product earlier! Thanks Rockler.

Great inexpensive piece of hardware. Huge coffee table top (48" X 25.5") made of 100% solid oak is easily supported and suspended in order to ensure safe access to the interior. Functions great and looks great. Make sure you adequately calculate the number of supports you will need. Great!

After contacting Rockler for further information regarding the "Toy Box Lid Supports", I purchased an extra one to make sure that the top of a Hope Chest wouldn't come down too easily. These supports were easy to attach and they absolutely did the trick. A big "Thanks" to the Rockler team. "I'll be back".
