The complete kit is easy to assemble and includes pre-cut, unfinished walnut for the case, glass music movement cover, hardware and velvet jewelry compartment liner. Completed box measures 3-3/8'' high x 9-5/8'' wide x 6'' deep. Also available are Music Box movements. Choose from a wide variety of contemporary, traditional or classical 18 note musical movement favorites to put the finishing touch on your composition! Please Note: Design of box requires movement to be activated by winding key only. If lid opening activation of musical movement is desired one can omit glass piece above movement compartment.

Parts fit well together and the quality of wood was very good. Instructions were good, but when paired with the optional movement, I would have liked it to work automatically, but if the glass is not utilized, it will.

Good kit, easy assembly and pretty accurate. Only problem was that the glass cover supplied covers the movement completley not alowing the movement to operate when box is opened. (it needs a slot for the activater arm to run through!)

Fit perfect, wood good quality. Finished using cherry wax and steel wool. Looks great. Would have like a better quality hinges. Should have included with instructions related products such as padded ring bars etc. All in all a great kit.

The glass piece supplied to cover the musical movement will make the on-off switch of the movement inoperable.

The kit itself is quite nice, just what I needed for a quick gift. However, it arrived with broken glass and missing the velvet lining. Due to time constraints, I did not return it, but next time I'll deal with the local store instead of the internet store.

The boxes were fun to put together and beautiful. However, the lid of one of the boxes was not a perfect square. This made things difficult. Also, it would have been extremely helpful to have a guide for where to drill the holes for the hinges.
