This solidly-built wooden high chair will last from child to grandchild to
great-grandchild! This plan has many difficult compound angles. It has a high level of difficulty and is recommend it only for the experienced woodworker.
Accessories (sold separately)
High Chair Hardware
- a complete set of hardware to make a ''removable'' tray. adjusts to
three positions. Made of cold rolled steel, zinc-plated. supplied with installation
screws - four 5/8'' x #6 flathead, Nickel Plated and 4-1/2'' x #7 roundhead
Nickel Plated. Supplied with a pair of latches and catches. tray has three positions
for adjustments.
High Chair Safety Strap
- strong polypropylene safety strap and security buckle that wraps around baby’s
waist and between legs.
Wood High Chair Trays
- high chair trays measuring 9 ½" deep by 21" long by 13/16" thick in oak or maple.
Wrap Around High Chair Trays This alternative to wood trays makes clean up a breeze. The white vinyl coated wood tray, wraps around to secure the baby and create more space. Wrap around tray measures 21'' wide by 15-3/4'' deep by 1'' thick. Flat underside fits most high chairs.

The directions are very hard to understand. Make sure that when your building this, you have plenty of rest. I do this work all the time and this is a little tough.

I'm really loving building this chair for my newborn child! I disagree with the comments about the difficulty. I would label the process somewhat laborious (many parts), but once you do the setup for one operation you can run all your pieces.
I didn't follow exactly the plan's instructions, kind of I went one step at a time, adjusting my angles as the cuts were made/assembled.
I used some construction lumber I had in my yard, and some left over pine boards from another projects, and still the chair looks very strong, and will last for many years.
All in all, this is an entertaining puzzle to build! I hope to finish it this week! I just couldn't wait to share my unfinished project's photo at this time!

I found the high chair somewhat difficult to build due to the 4 and 7 degree angles. My granddaughter seems to love it. I used 100% red oak I also used the recommended safety and hardware. I only had to remake a couple of pieces due to my errors.
Good for 200 years

Like some others I found the detail a little lacking but with a basic build knowledge you can work through the various steps ok.Thank goodness I have a well equiped workshop otherwise things would have been very difficult. I am building 2 as we have twin grandchildern after a very long wait. I am well on the way to completion of both at the same time. Many thanks

This high chair plan is very much more difficult to build than you would guess. I purchase the plan and am amazed at the difficulty presented by the tapered legs. These tapered/slanted legs lend to every other attaching piece being of varying degrees and tapers. The plans really need to be refined so they can be followed without bouncing back and forth between sections. I have built many projects using Woodsmith plans and very much prefer them.
