I learned a lot about how to modify this table to make it better, substitute aluminium rails for the T slots provided.
The melamine slots do not hold up to continued use. The attachment arrangement is also flawed as it uses small screws to attach to the base. Industrial type products need stronger holders.

This is a pretty nice table for an 8" or 10" drill press. I especially like the fence.

I bought it for my 12" benchtop drill press, which the catalog and on-line descriptions no longer recommend -- and with good reason. The roughly 1' by 2' size would be fine for my drill press, but it is set up so I can't get the fence far enough back unless I mount it so the drill bit hits the edge of the replaceable insert instead of the middle.

Eventually, I'll build my own table, but I've learned a lot about what I need from using this one. However, I'll keep the fence. It's sturdy, attractive, and well designed. I am going to make two minor changes right away. First, I'll put a small rabbit on the fence faces so drill dust is less able to keep the work away from the fence. Second, I'll put ratchet handles on the t-bolts that hold the fence on the table.

The drill press table is okay. However the drill press table instructions shown in the "Details" tab under Tech Info are actually for the full size drill press table(item 22810). The mini drill press table comes pre-drilled for clamp mounts, but these holes are spaced to clamp onto an 8 in drill press. Additionally the Drill Press Dust Port(item 23195) will NOT bolt directly onto the fence of the of the mini drill press table.

Editor's note:The same hold down arrangement is used for both sizes of tables as is shown in the instruction illustration. The pre-drilled holes in the underside of the mini-drill press table will fit most small tables. If one is mounting the mini-drill press table to a table with a larger table surface than the pre-drilled holes allow then one drills additional holes farther out on the underside of the mini-drill press table for the inserts. The mini-drill Press table is designed for use without a dust port. The 23195 dust port is designed only for use with the 22810 table.

Good size and easy to assemble. A nice surface to work on for a small drill press. The hold down set is not worth the money. Two of the three oak blocks split when attaching the clamps. The raised piece that should fit into the slot is to big and binds up. I would recommend building the blocks out of a synthetic material.

I have a Craftsman 12" table so I had the same problems listed in some other reviews but with some simple measuring and drilling it was an easy mount. I had to square the table with some shims but this was the fault of the drill not the table. It makes a very good surface to mount the pen press/ drill guide.

Overall I was disappointed with the table for 2 reasons.
When I received the table, one section of the fence was damaged. In looking at the damage, I am not surprised that the piece broke and suspect that, in time, the damage would have occured under normal use. The problem is that the T-bolt grooves in the back and front of the fence are too close together, leaving a relatively small width of fiberboard holding the top section and bottom section together. It wouldn't (and obviously didn't) take much force to cause this area to split as it did in the process of packaging or shipping with the one I received.
Secondly, the accessory kit comes with a dust port which does not attach to the smaller of the two drill press tables offered by Rockler. Yet, nowhere online or in the catalog is this stated. Since I utilize dust collection on all my table top tools, this made the unit as a whole useless for my workshop.

Editor's note: A quick call to our customer support at 800-376-7856 with order info and we can get any damaged parts replaced.
Due to the smaller size of the mini table and fence there is not the space required to incorporate a dust port into the design as is done with the larger drill press table.

Overall this is an improvement over the manufacturer's small table. A few improvements would be great: 1) include a scale or means to set the fence to a specific dimension, current design required you square up the fence each and every timefor the y dimension; 2) since I have a small table, the up/down positioning handle for the table height hits the table, I noted that the larger size has a cut-out to accomodate this - the small table does not; 3) the t-slots / clamping blocks (oak) do not secure without over tightening the bolts (too much stress - I am afraid they will not last long)- perhaps the addition of a metal insert would be better and provide a firm holding surface (not very reliable as delivered); 4) finally the two fences do not line-up, there is ~ a 1/32" - 1/16" overlap along the length even when I tighted them down firmly (tolerances).
