I used this on floor boards for an 18 foot lake skiff that my wife and I are building. Other reviewers have said this and I agree - take small amounts, especially when using something soft like the Spanish cedar that I've been working with. A very worthwhile investment.

Overall, this tool worked well and is worth the money. "Small bites" at a time are key. The blade settings required a bit of "reading the instructions". Chamfers approaching 1/4" require adjusting the blades laterally since a small ridge begins to be left on one side.

Seems to work fine and I like this tool. Glad I got it. One question lurks though: Why two blades? No guidance on this in the instructions. My guess is to set the first to take off a small swipe then the second to take off a bit more. Otherwise the second blade seems redundant.

Does just what I expected. Maybe a bit of advise for those who had problems. Set up the front blade for a very shallow cut and the back for slightly more. Make sure both blades are centered in the plane and I think you find it works as advertised

1. This tool worked great - it was just what I needed, and required less work and setup time than a router.
2. I don't understand the other reviewers who said this tool was difficult to set up and adjust - I had it up and running in about 10 minutes. When you adjust it, just remember: small bites. It might have been nicer to have knurled adjustment knobs on top rather than allen screws, but it probably would have doubled the price. I'll deal with the allen screws, thank-you!
3. My only problem on my project (edging an MDF tabletop) was that I really should have used a nice even-grained hardwood instead of soft pine. The knots and the easily separated grain really caused me problems, but that wasn't the tools fault. A little judicious filling and sanding and all is well.

The radius plane has become one of my favorite hand tools, in part because it is such a great idea. It is the perfect way to gently soften an edge, combining the quick precision of a router (without the set up time) with the ease and quietude of a hand plane. Once I figured out how to adjust and set the dual blades so that they wouldn't clog, I have found countless uses for it. It seems to be well made, is lightweight, and with carbide blades, I expect it to last for some time. A useful tool for a great price.

Have had and used the radius plane for quite a few years. Is much simpler to use this tool when you have a small project to do and much faster than digging out the router and getting the bit adjusted. Am planning on ordering the chamfer plane for the same reason. Just love it. Thanks for coming up with something as handy as these are.
