A great pen to complete
Posted March 27, 2014
I recently completed this pen and it turned out great. I am retired Police & Fireman and thought this would be just the pen for me. Instructions, who reads those instructions. Well for one me, and sure glad I did. They state that some parts look identical but they aren't so take care. I soon discovered that and completed the pen. It turned out just beautiful, and I intend to make another. My daughter is an EMT Vol firefighter, and wanted this pen, but this one goes in my display and she gets the next one. One suggestion though, before applying any glue, review your work . I almost got the top fire and bottom rescue switched, but got it correct at the last moment. The tips of the fire axes part 15 & 18 come out silver in the completed pen and that looks great. I give it 6 stars if possible. I finished my pen with many many coats of thin CA, and it looks special. PS, I'm 76 years old and still kicking, so don't let one bad review influence you. Sorry it happened to you Cheri......Ken

I had no problem building this inlay kit.The instructions were easy to follow and accurate. This was my 5th inlay kit and the most challenging but so was the stars & stripes kit.It turned out beautiful.JUST follow the instructions and of course use a little common sense. The pieces do fit.Take your time.
We loved the idea of this...

We loved the idea of this pen and the look of the finished pen. However, we encountered a problem when we followed instructions to put glue around the edges. The piece with the ladder shattered/disintegrated and crumbled. Other pieces then did the same thing. Wasted our $.
