Mill precision parts for your own custom raised panel doors!

Overview

Set contains Premier Adjustable Quarter Round Rail and Stile Bits to mill tenons of any length! Simply remove the top portion of the cutter (including bearing and spindle) to produce the front of the long tenon profile for blind tenons, through tenons or bridle joints. These precise bits work for any door 5/8" to 1-1/4" thick. Unique cutter geometry virtually eliminates tearout. Adjustable shims enable a tight fit when using plywood and also allow use with panels as thin as 7/32". High-density carbide composition and Perma-Shield® coating lengthen bit life and protect against heat and pitch build-up. 1/2" shanks. Also includes a 3-1/2" dia. Ogee Raised Panel Bit.

I too use these Freud 3-Piece...

EDWARD B from Mt. Holly, NC Posted February 20, 2013
I too use these Freud 3-Piece door sets and they are great. The versitility of these sets is matched by no other. I think that if Rick had more experience with these, he too would give them an excellent rating. Rick, experiment on some test peices. You'll be amazed at the endless posibilities of what you can do with them. Enjoy !!

In response to "Rick from Mackinac"...

ETAI A from Los Angeles, CA Posted February 3, 2013
In response to "Rick from Mackinac" it seems you are rating this product poorly not based on its efficacy or quality but rather that it did not match your existing door....which is a hard burden for a router set to have to carry. It seems that you did not use a back-cutter which would have made the panel flush (at least for a panel of equal stock thickness to rails/stiles). A cross section profile would not have helped as stock thickness depends on user. Yet it still could have been flush had you back cut the panel: either by attaching the back-cutter or using the straight (slot/rabbeting) portion of either the rail or stile bits. I use these Freud door sets regularly and found them to be exceptional. User error should not be the reason a product (and the thousands of people that work for the company and whose lives depend upon) are reviewed poorly.

I'm rating it in the middle....

Richard L from Mackinac Island, MI, 49757 Posted January 12, 2012
I'm rating it in the middle. On the test run the bits themselves work really well, good clean cuts, in that respect they rate Excellent. However, I was trying to get a close match to existing doors in another room and after what I thought was careful comparison before choosing this set I found the center panels stick out from the rails/stiles like a sore thumb. A cross section profile of a finished door in the description would have prevented this. As I was unable to make the doors for my application, it was a total waste of money.
