- Freud® LM72M Industrial Heavy Duty Rip Saw Blades
Overview
This blade gives smooth, fast rips in hardwoods and softwoods. The combination of a rigid blade body and razor sharp flat top carbide teeth will provide a "glue line" precision cut. These blades are precision balanced and can be used in gang-rip operations. The ideal working range is from 3/4" to 2-3/4" thick. This blade also features laser cut anti-vibration slots, practically eliminating the vibration that resonates in standard blades. With this ultimate ripping blade, there is no need for stabilizers.
Features:
- Silver I.C.E.™ (Industrial Cooling Element) coating helps resist heat build-up up to two times longer than standard, polished steel blades. The extra protection from heat stress and pitch build-up helps reduce drag, extending the life of your blade and saw motor
- Also available with the premium Perma-SHIELD® coating (sold separately)
- Extra large, flat tooth design leaves a smooth finish without the need for sanding or jointing
- Laser-cut anti-vibration slots drastically reduce vibration and sideways movement in the cut - extending blade life, and giving a crisp, swirl-free flawless finish
- No stabilizers needed
- Silver I.C.E.™ (Industrial Cooling Element) Coating is a revolutionary coating that resists corrosion and resin or "pitch" build-up and resists heat up to 2 times longer than standard polished blades
- Features Ti-Co™ Hi-Density Carbide Ripping Blend for maximum performance
- Anti-vibration design

This is one of few blades I could find with a flat kerf profile and I read a good review for it. I have used it to cut flat-bottomed grooves for corner splines on several small boxes and it worked nicely.

Are the coatings on this and other Freud blades conductive so that in use with a Saw Stop table saw the safety features work properly?

Works good. Did what I wanted it to.
I installed this blade on a Delta contractor's table saw, and used it to cut 8/4 hard maple into strips to make a cutting board. Took a little bit of effort to push the wood through the blade, but considering it was 8/4 hard maple, and on a contractor's saw instead of a full powered cabinet saw, I think it did pretty good. My first use was to groove the rails and stiles for stub tenons on a cherry door on this same project, and my first reaction was that I thought the depth setting had slipped because I felt no resistance during the cut. The cut was clean and flat. I definitely recommend this product.
