Can you shorten the cable ?
A shopper

BEST ANSWER: Shorting the cable would degrade the integrity of the kit, possible to the extent that it would not work when stressed. You will need some slack in the cable to provide room to make the connection of the cable to the anchors. If you are concerned with the amount of "tip" the length of cable provides before it restrains the furniture, then you can adjust the location of the anchor on either the wall or the furniture to provide more or less limit of movement.

Could you please give me the width of the wall bracket and the thickness measurement inside the bracket. I will be using the bracket to hold a piece of glass and I need to know what is the max thickness of a piece of glass would work? Thank you

BEST ANSWER: Hi Jan, the two brackets are the same. They measure 5/8" wide outside. The interior i.e. Between the bracket measures 7/16" I tried to put a piece of 1/2" plywood which nominal measurement is 7/16" and it was pretty tight, so for glass I would say maybe 5/16" or 13/32" may be the ticket. Hope this help,s.

Is it best for the brackets to be in the same line with each other (and if so, does it matter if one is lower or higher than the other), or is it just as strong if one of the brackets are slid to one side or the other?

The Best
I did some research on anti-tip hardware for a tall bookshelf we have. I ordered the Rockler Anti-Tip hardware and this by far is the best anti-tip hardware out there. Installation took me 5 minutes. It doesn't get any easier than this. Find the stud in the wall, screw in the piece for the wall, then line up the piece that goes on the furniture with the piece already mounted on the wall. Screw in the furniture piece. Connect the cable to the anchors and lock the pin in and you are done. There is no way that this shelf will tip over. Great product, great quality, clear instructions and quick install. The price was great too. No reason for you to look anywhere else, this is the best anti-tip hardware out there!!!
