Great Finish!

Wayne Posted August 17, 2014
I've used many different finishes over the years, and always seemed to be looking for something better. About a year ago, I started buying things to test - I grabbed this and that and put the cans on the shelf for a future test.
When our railing's finish needed to be repaired, I grabbed the can of Arm-R-Seal Oil & Urethane Topcoat-Gloss, and I was actually shocked at how good it is.
This is a very easy-to-use and forgiving finish, and the results are top notch.
I have stopped testing... This stuff is awesome!

Another great product from General Finishes!

I used it on a black walnut & zebrawood jewelry box, it really brought out the grain and beauty of the wood. Great recommendation from the Rockler staff!

This is the best oil-based finish...

Jonathan H from Afton, MN Posted January 26, 2013
This is the best oil-based finish I've ever used to both bring out the grain of the wood and leave the wood color looking natural. It doesn't yellow like polyurethane or varnish-type wipe-on finishes. One caveat: the finish left in the can has a short shelf-life {a couple of months}. It will eventually turn into a jelly-like mass which can't be restored with paint thinner to its original thin consistency. You can still use it in a thickened state as a wipe on/off finish, although it will be more time-consuming to work with. Bloxygen will slow down the gelling process, but won't stop it. Only buy it in small cans or as much as you think you will use in a couple of months. Also: when you use the finish on your wood project, wipe it off fast. It dries very quickly compared with other polyurethane and varnish finishes, and will start to grab at your wiping cloth if you don't get it off fast enough.
