Another great product from General Finishes!

I used it on a black walnut & zebrawood jewelry box, it really brought out the grain and beauty of the wood. Great recommendation from the Rockler staff!

This is the best oil-based finish...

Jonathan H from Afton, MN Posted January 26, 2013
This is the best oil-based finish I've ever used to both bring out the grain of the wood and leave the wood color looking natural. It doesn't yellow like polyurethane or varnish-type wipe-on finishes. One caveat: the finish left in the can has a short shelf-life {a couple of months}. It will eventually turn into a jelly-like mass which can't be restored with paint thinner to its original thin consistency. You can still use it in a thickened state as a wipe on/off finish, although it will be more time-consuming to work with. Bloxygen will slow down the gelling process, but won't stop it. Only buy it in small cans or as much as you think you will use in a couple of months. Also: when you use the finish on your wood project, wipe it off fast. It dries very quickly compared with other polyurethane and varnish finishes, and will start to grab at your wiping cloth if you don't get it off fast enough.

I've used this product for years...

Guest from Gig Harbor, WA Posted January 21, 2013
I've used this product for years and recently the store that carried it went out of business. I found this available at Rockler and wanted to comment. I've used this on all the wood trim on our Jelwdwen windows and doors, and several pieces of furniture and it is better than any other product I've used. On occasion I use the foam brushes but my favorite are the cheese cloth covered foam pads. The finish goes on smooth and I don't get any smear or brush marks. I try to not use old finish since it tends to start to jell in the can. I do stir it until I get a smooth consistent liquid. I typically put three coats on window frames and doors, and five to six on furniture. I've never tried to spray it however.
