Read the reviews, purchased one anyway

Good overall quality, except for the poorly machined/rough base. The set screw protruded from the base, causing a scratch on my saw. The instructions could benefit from being written by someone other than one who only has a marginal command of the English language. The manual was printed on very poor quality paper. If it weren't for Rockler's exceptional customer service people, I would have probably returned this one.
good and bad..

I was impressed with the mass and overall quality for the price of this tool and despite the rather dark, photocopied manual it was pretty simple putting together and getting everything square. What was really disappointing is the poorly machined / finished base that put a deep score and scratched my 12" cabinet saw adjacent to the miter slot.

Easy to order, fast shipping. This is a heavy tenon jig. The directions for tuning are good if you read them before tuning the jig. Took me 30 minutes. Minimal grease, appeared to have been cleaned. The only problems I had were the inset screw on the bottom of the jig next to the miter was not screwed in and when I put it in the slot it scratched my top. Should have examine it more closely. The miter has more play than I would like, will have to tune it. I would like to be able to cut deeper tenons for large pieces, but am finding a way around that. Overall pretty good jig. Wish it were made in the U.S. though.

I found this jig on Rockler's web site. I read most of the reviews, and it sounded like the jig I wanted. I also took into account the not so good reviews some of the people gave. Being made out of Cast iron and locking rail into the miter groove on the table saw was a plus. I got it yesterday and I checked it over for smoothness on the bottom side that runs on the table saw. It was fine. All I had to do was move the miter guide. I set it up for the cuts I needed. I had about 20 pieces of wood that needed a tenon on both ends, waiting for this jig to arrive. I started in and before I was ready to finish I was done with all my tenons. This was so easy to use and to do the same cut over and over, sliding the jig back a forth was a breeze. I can't say enough about this jig. Well worth the price to me. Built to out last me too. I may not push this jig to it's limits or use all of it's functions, but for what I needed it's the top of the line to me. Also some complaints were about the instructions. I went to youtube and watched a video that was pretty much the same jig there and got all the info I needed for mine. Anyway great addition to my improving workshop.

If you are counting on using this product on standard stock that is over 3.25inch in any direction, this is not the product for you. You CAN use the jig for larger stock, but you have to fix your own clamps in some fashion which kind of detracts paying over a hundred dollars for a jig. Then you also have to take into consideration that on some table saws, mine is a Ridged contractor grade saw, you can't get the base plate right up to the blade. The closest mine gets to the blade is 1/8 inch. and then consider the kurf size, and that means the MINIMAL shoulder you can make is in my case 7/32. When using stock that is less than 3/4's that is a VERY bad constraint. If it wasn't so heavy, and return shipping so much, I would have already returned it. Since the shipping is so High, I'm going to let it "hang out", and hope that more of the jobs I have fit within it's constraints. Finally, I would like to mention the "blade to jig face" gauge is made out of a flimsy plastic, and on mine was installed crooked and creased, so that it's useless. I have some steel ruled stock I can use in it's place. On a positive note, it is built like a tank, so it will last a long time. I also did NOT have the issues with it scratching my table that others did. All in all, I can't recommend this product.
