At Rockler, we always enjoy hearing from our customers and seeing their projects. Our Customer Gallery lets you easily upload pictures of your projects to show them off and share a bit about the building process.
Recently we had a letter from a longtime customer, Mr. Kenneth Yeisley, who, at 85 years old, says he is “starting to wind down” his woodworking career! Mr. Yeisley has been a carpenter for 70 years, and has a great sense of humor, proclaiming he “still has all his body parts” (a real accomplishment for someone in woodworking for 70 years!). He sent many pictures of his most recent projects (and his awesome shop, upper right), and we'd like to share some of them with you here.
Mr. Yeisley has some very lucky grandchildren – as he has been busy for the last few years making these gorgeous roll top desks for them! Rockler drawer slides, locks, biscuits, glue, and our Dovetail Jig were used in making all these beautiful desks. What an extra-special heirloom gift to a child from an extraordinarily talented and obviously devoted grandfather!
Not only has Mr. Yeisley perfected the roll top desk, he also invented a squirrel-proof (electrified) bird feeder! And not just any bird feeder – look at the incredible detail in these, including a hammered copper roof on one, and a wooden shingled roof with 750 hand-made shingles on the other!
We thank Mr. Yeisley for sharing his love of woodworking with us, and for being such a loyal Rockler customer. For more pictures and more details on all of Mr. Yeisley's projects, please check out his entries (three under “Furniture” and one under “Outdoor“) in our Customer Gallery. And please – share your own projects in the Gallery. It's a joy to see what our customers create!
