Digital Accessories: A Quick Survey
posted on by
Digital Caliper Digital Calipers, like this one from Darson give clear digital readings, which makes things easier in the shop.

These days, we’re surrounded by digital technology, so it only makes sense to benefit from its precision and convenience in our shops. While some might scoff at our need for thousandths-inch precision — “It’s only wood, for gosh sakes!” — there are times when dead-on accuracy can save you time, effort and wasted material. Digital measuring instruments also bring convenience. You don’t need to decipher an analog scale — just read the LCD display. No need for a calculator, either; push a button to get instant decimal-to-fraction or metric conversions. If you’d like to step past the “good ’nuff” approach to measuring, these tools can help.

Ready for Digital?

As our title indicates, this is just a quick survey of options. There are more digital shop aids than space allows here. If you know of other good ones, write in and share your favorites. While digital isn’t the answer to every measuring task, it definitely improves both convenience and accuracy. What’s not to like about that?
