Freedom Pen Turn-a-thon this Saturday
posted on May 18, 2006 by Rockler

In honor of Armed Forces Day, Rockler is sponsoring its third annual National Turn-a-thon in support of the Freedom Pens Project this Saturday from 10:00 to 4:00 at each of its retail stores.  The Freedom Pens Project is dedicated to supplying the U.S. troops overseas with pens crafted by woodworkers from across the country.  More information on the organization is available at the Freedom Pens Project Website.  The Turn-a-thon is a great opportunity to improve your pen turning skills, and to express your gratitude to our Armed Forces personnel overseas.

If you just can't get enough turning, you'll be glad to know that along with the Turn-a-thon, there are a number of turning classes and events scheduled for this Saturday at individual Rockler retail stores in various parts of the country. The Buffalo, NY store is holding a Beginning Spindle Turning class on Saturday. Also on Saturday, there'll be a Fundamentals of Woodturning class at the Salem, NH store. The weekend-long Turner's Paradise at the Minnetonka, MN store promises to be quite an event for turning enthusiasts, and if you're in the Denver area, the Yo-Yo - with Leo Lohman class at the Denver, CO store sounds like a lot of fun.  Check our Store Location Map to find a store in your area.  You'll find information on upcoming Rockler national events and demos listed directly below the map, and information on individual store events and classes on each retail store's homepage.
