General International’s 5/8″ Hollow Chisel Mortiser features smooth mortising power and a telescoping table with enhanced workpiece support.
The new 5/8″ Hollow Chisel Mortiser from General International (75-040 M1) comes with a four-piece mortising chisel and bit set in sizes ranging from 1/4″ to 1/2″. Included adapter bushings accommodate both 5/8″ and 3/4″ sized chisel shanks. A gas head-cylinder controls the stroke for smooth operation, while a dual depth stop provides control of downstroke depth and upstroke travel. The large feed handle has a multi-position arm for better leverage, and the workpiece stop is adjustable. Telescopic extensions on the 14-1⁄4″ x 11-1⁄8″ table increase its side-to-side size to 35″ for enhanced workpiece support. The 75-040 M1 has a 2010 list price of $532.
