Hitachi’s ten year warranty on Lithium-Ion tools is retroactive to its tool lines starting in 2006 for most tools and for 10 years.
If you own a Lithium-Ion tool from Hitachi, you may be interested to know that the company recently instituted a 10-year warranty on such tools — and made it retroactive. Any of the qualifying Lithium-Ion tools purchases since Hitachi’s launch of their line in August 2006 are now guaranteed to the original purchaser to be defect-free in materials and workmanship for 10 years past their date of sale. Qualifying tools include a bunch of drills, saws, wrenches and blowers. The warranty on the batteries that power these tools is two years for the original purchaser.
