Metabo’s Cordless Saws come with a battery coolant system that ensures longer lasting battery life.
Metabo Corporation has recently released their new KSA18 LTX cordless circular saw and ASE18 LTX 18V cordless reciprocating saw. Both are powered with 18-volt Li-Power Extreme batteries and include Metabo’s patented air-cooled battery system, which cools both the battery and the charger to keep the battery temperature level during charging. This extends battery life and shortens charge time. The KSA18 LTX 6-1/2″ circular saw ($409) has a maximum cutting depth of 27⁄64″ at 90° and 1-5⁄8″ at 45°, a no-load speed of 2,700 rpm and bevel cutting to 50 degrees. On the ASE18 LTX reciprocating saw, a tool-less adjustable shoe means you can use the entire length of the blade evenly to extend its life. The 18″-long tool weighs 7.9 pounds and delivers 0-2,700 strokes per minute, with a stroke length of 11⁄16″. As of 2011, suggested price is $419.
