Minwax Sealant Minwax's Sanding Sealer prepares sanded projects for the application of oil- or water-based polyurethane finish

The new Minwax® Professional Formula Sanding Sealer goes on clear onto unstained bare wood interior surfaces (such as furniture, cabinets, doors and floors) without changing the color of the wood. It seals the grain and creates a smooth surface for the application of either oil- or water-based polyurethane finish. The Sanding Sealer itself is water-based, low in VOCs and cleans up easily with soap and water. Price varies according to retailer.

I am building a ship model. Instructions say to use resin, spirits, and naptha sanding sealer, not an acrylate. Are you aware of the difference?
    Thank you .
