Porter-Cable’s PCL418C-2 combo kit features an interchangeable Li-Ion battery with a worklight, saws and driver.
With the popularity of the new Lithium-Ion battery technology these days, it’s no surprise that more and more tool manufacturers — including the old standbys, like Porter-Cable — have Li-ion offerings in their power tool lines.
For instance, the aforementioned Porter-Cable offers, among other things, the PCL418C-2 Combo Kit, which includes a compact drill/driver, 6-1⁄2″ circular saw, reciprocating saw and flashlight, all rated at 18 volts. Two Li-ion batteries, plus a charger, come with the combo kit, but they’re not limited to the combo kit: P-C’s Li-ion batteries can be used interchangeably with any Porter-Cable 18-volt cordless tool, including tools originally sold with Nickel Cadmium batteries.
In this Combo Kit, you’ll also find a couple of saw blades, a bit tip and a soft-sided carrying case, all for a suggested price of $299, in 2009.
