Benchtop miter saws are the preferred tool for cross-cutting a variety of materials and ideal for projects involving window and/or door casings, crown molding and other types of wood trim.  Few specialized tools are more useful than miter saws, and a benchtop miter saw does all this without taking up a lot of space in your woodshop either.
