Rikon’s 10-380 Band Saw has a large work surface and a motor with plenty of power and a good set of features for most shops.
Once a woodworker has some wood, you’ll probably want to machine it. Got a project with large workpieces? Rikon has several new band saws out this fall, including the 22″ Model 10-380 ready in November. The work surface on this big band saw is 19″ x 24-7⁄8″, allowing a cutting capacity of 14-1⁄2″ height and 21-1⁄2″ width with the 3hp motor. Guiding those large workpieces is a 5″-tall fence with a resaw bar. The 10-380 also has dual 4″ dust ports, a magnetic switch which prevents the saw from turning on until restoration of power in the event of an outage, and cast-iron wheels and trunnion. Its 2009 suggested cost was $2,199.99.
