Squaring-Up-Measurement

Making a pinch rod measurement

Pinch rods are used for diagonal measurements in a tactile measurement, pushing them into the corners of your piece to test the fit and thus the measure.

Pinch rod measurements are gauged in a tactile, not visual, way — a “friction fit.” Grasp the rods firmly and propel the ends into the corners with your thumbs.
