Hi, I am desperately seeking help on how to turn a concrete and painted column into a wood looking column. The size is 15" round column and 11' high. The column has been painted with water based semi gloss. Can I use ZAR water based stain to get the effect you had on video (you used oil based stain). Your advice will be much appreciated.

... or perhaps gel stain would adhere to the water based paint that is already there? Then I can use water based sealer?
