Poorly designed, poor quality control on manufacture, and of questionable weight bearing ability.

Donald Posted January 15, 2015
This product seemed to be well made (indicated by the weight and thickness of the base frame) until I assembled it and ran into problems. The two steel boxes into which the fixed wheels fit have to be fairly well made and squared or the backer plates (they form one half of the wheel attaching points) will not fit into the boxes. On one side, I had to grind the backer plate and bend the box in order to get the wheel axle sleeve to fit into the box. One the other side the box was quite out of shape (at least 3/8 inch out of square) and had to be bent and shaped to get it square (or the wheel alignment would have been distorted). The backer plate mounts vertically and fits into slots that bear the weight of the base on the thickness of the backer plate (which in turn bear the weight of the tool sitting on the base). The entire weight rests on the thickness of the backer plate which is.064 inches thick and aligned with an equally thin part of the box. In short, a very poor weight bearing solution. The front floor locks next to the swivel wheels are another problem. They are side mounted on the base frame and are of thin metal (or perhaps aluminum for an axle pivot). In short, any weight on the base means the floor mounts will put pressure on the bases rail to deflect It doesn't make sense to have thick steel in the base rails and flimsy wheel mounts and floor locks. The instructions could also be reworked so the pictures are detailed enough to allow the reader to relate the text to the necessary assembly. Overall, poorly designed, poor quality control on manufacture, and of questionable weight bearing ability. Not worth the price paid.
