- Incra® Miter V120 Gauge
Overview
Enjoy absolute accuracy and tight-fitting, low-friction operation with this premium miter gauge. Laser-cut AngleLOCK stops in 1° increments from +/- 60° (plus special stops at +/- 22.5°) give you ultra-fine precision across the board, while a GlideLOCK miter bar adjusts for a no-slop fit in any standard miter slot. The V120 offers the precision of far more expensive miter gauges without the high price-point. Designed for smooth, slop-free use on a wide variety of tools, it includes a removable T-clip to ensure compatibility with any tool with a standard, or near standard, 3/4" x 3/8" miter slot (many older or smaller tools have miter channels without the "T-slot"). Features all steel machined and laser cut components.

The Incra V120 miter gauge has positive stops at every degree. I have enjoyed using the Incra V27 for many years. While I love it, some jigs I am making require different angles than it offers. To keep the jigs as accurate as possible, I chose this miter gauge. I see using both miter gauges throughout my woodworking days, as they both have plenty to offer. The V27 for its simple elegance and fabulous repeatability, and now the V120 for those special needs projects.

Whats the difference between the v 27 and the v 120 ?
mark g
on May 24, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Both are great gauges with the biggest difference being the number of positive stops on each one. The v27 has 27 positive stops that cover all of the most common angles used but the v120 has a positive stop every 1 degree making it more useful for those "weird" angles.

I have no clue, but I can tell you that I am very pleased with how accurate the miter gauge I purchased works. I get PERFECT 45 and 90 degree cuts with a old table saw. Before I purchased the gauge my cuts were always off by one to three degrees no matter how careful I tried to make my cuts.

I can not answer because I don't remember after this period of time. I like the V120. I tend to favor accuracy and convenience, i.e., additional features. I do remember that this one at a special, or sale price at the time. However; I try to not let this sway my opinion. Earl Hendrickson

What is the bottom of the miter gauge made of? Slick plastic, metal, painted metal, what? I have a new JET table saw and the standard JET miter gauge is starting to rust on the bottom surface that makes contact with my steel table saw top. I've conditioned the steel table saw top, however, the JET standard miter gauge leaves streaks of rust, causing me to clean and condition the steel table saw top daily. I'd like to have a miter gauge with a very clean bottom surface if possible.

BEST ANSWER: The part that rests on the saw top is a hard plastic with a textured surface. It slides easily on my cast iron top. I have found this to be a real nice upgrade from the OEM gauge. I use paste wax on my table top. Have you tried cleaning the rust from your gauge and coating with a protective material like wax or a commercial product?

Thomas W. B.. Thanks. That's was the answer I was looking forward to getting. I have other tools that fit in the miter slot and also have the hard plastic bottom surface. I have in the past conditioned my steel table saw top and other steel tools with paste wax, however, a few years ago I started using TopSaver, for restoration and protection beyond compare. I was looking for two things a better bottom and a more accurate angle adjustment. This one will work for me. Thanks for the help.

And, over the weekend I got an email from Mark at Incra. Mark says... "The protractor plate is steel, and there's a thick, low-friction plate adhered to the protractor's underside that extends almost to the edges. The thick, low-friction plate on the bottom is plastic..Lexan, if I recall correctly. We use this setup on all our miter gauges."
Thanks to Thomas W. B. and Mark at Incra. I'll be ordering soon (looking a few other items at Rockler).

Very nice upgrade
I have been using the Incra V27 and the miter 1000. The V27 has 27 stops and the Miter 1000 has 41 locking stops. They work well, but were beginning to limit the precision cuts required for some projects. The V120 has 120 locking stops, which includes every degree that I might need for cutting marking templates and segmented bowls for the lathe. After I set it up to match my table saw, it works like a charm. I absolutely love the notches for repeating the exact cut angle every time.

Something larger but its small size really makes it work really good. So i'm very satisfied who ever is needing a miter gauge look no further this little gauge is a jewel very accurate on the degrees

Its great for my needs. It replaces the original equipment guage on my 1950's Rockwell contactors saw. Great upgrade for a modest price.

Don't know why I waited so long.
This miter gauge is hefty and built very well. It is a far cry from the plastic miter gauge that came with the job site saw I purchased 10 years ago. I like the feature to easily 'dial-in" the angle I need for cutting. It has screw holes available to attach any auxiliary fence size. Provides a strong push for the workpiece through the saw blade.

Wish I had the Incra V120 years ago I don't know I did woodworking without it
My Sears miter gauge was always a problem with a miter it only had 90 & 45 degrees and I could never trust it even after I drilled and taped the bar for adjustments.
I'm a retired cabinet maker and I wish I had the Incra V 120 when I made my cabinets at home making cabinets would have been so much easier to build back then
With my Incra miter gauge V120 I just moved everything from my Sears and everything I cut came out exact, and the price was the best I could find thanks Rockler for everything

Great
I have owned this about six months and it is working great. My old table saw does not have the T style slot, so I had to remove the washer at the end of the bar, but that was easy. I have added a long removeable wooden fence which was easy since it had predrilled holes for this.

What a Difference
I have a 300.00 dollar Sears table saw and for home projects it did just fine, but when I purchased the V120 Miter Gauge from Incra now it is like a have a table saw that cost a thousand dollars or more. The difference is accuracy is unbelievable how accurate the cuts are now.. a 90 degree is actually 90 degrees and a 45 is a 45. I would really suggest if you have an average table saw and want accurate cuts that you spend the money. I think you will fine that you made a great investment.

Worked perfectly. Used it to make picture frames, it was dead nuts on exact. Very happy with adjustments, easy to adapt to my saw.

Excellent product for my DeWalt table saw
The miter gauge that comes with the 7480 or any DeWalt table saw is a piece of junk. After struggling with it for quite some time, my lovely wife said, "Get yourself an early Christmas present" so I went to a local woodworking store and bought the V120. I actually went in for the V27 but they didn't have one.
I love this miter gauge. Once you set it up to be square to your saw blade (which better be square to your miter slots first), the precision with which I can cut miters is fantastic. They are accurate, repeatable and now they're much more satisfying to make.
I don't know how someone could bend the teeth on this miter. They are pretty sturdy. I guess if you don't loosen the gauge set tooth first and drag it across the teeth, that might cause a problem. But if that's what you're doing, you shouldn't be near a table saw anyway.
The DeWalt 7489 is a portable table saw, to respond to someone else's question. It has straight, non-t miter slots. The V120 has a detachable t-slot finger if your saw doesn't have a t slot. I would use it on my router table, as it does have the t slot, but I rarely use the miter on the router table for anything but square cuts.
As for shimming some folks have mentioned, I don't know why you would have to shim anything with this miter gauge. At least for my saw, and the wooden sacrificial fence I installed, no shimming was needed for anything.
Adjusting the slop out of the miter slots was simple. Read the directions and you can't miss. My old miter gauge was crude and sloppy; the V120 is snug and solid. The only time I have a problem with is is when I try to crosscut an 8" piece of wood, but that's not the miter's fault. It's a shortcoming of my table saw.
I also have an Incra rule, a t-square, and the original Incra jig. They work great, and the repeatability is exactly what I love to see in my shop. I also have two of their books, which are very useful references in my shop. I'm not a big promoter of any one manufacturer, but I've never been dissatisfied with Incra stuff.

GREAT UNIT
I HAVE BEEN USING AN OLD MITER GAUGE THAT CAME WITH SAW,,,ALL THOSE YEARS AGO WHEN I BOUGHT THE SAW. IT WAS WORN AND I DID NOT REALIZE HOW MUCH I NEEDED THIS NEW ONE. IT WORKS GREAT AND IS EASY TO SET UP. I LOVE THE ADJUSTERS THAT ALLOW YOU TO MAKE IT FIT THE MITER SLOT WITH ZERO PLAY. REALLY GREAT UPGRADE FOR ME.

This is the best addition to my table saw. it was easy to set up and use and allows for a better and easier set-up than the stock unit that came with my rigid Table saw. After buying some for friends, it was time I upgraded.

Great miter gauge
After using the miter gauge that came with my table saw for years i finally decided to get a real one. Sorry i waited so long! The Incra miter gauge is so nice and precise i never have to second guess my setups. Like that the single digit adjustments are so easy to make.

So Cool
Should have gotten this long time ago, It's so easy to get that exact angle you want. So far I've only used it on my Ridgid oscillating belt sander and I needed some different perfect angles, this did the job quickly with little to no setup scrap and it's repeatable. Plan on using it on my Powermatic Bandsaw which it fits great, but it won't work on my Craftsman table saw. The width adjustment works good but don't go to far. A bit pricey even on sale but worth it for ease and precision.

After fixing the miter gauge that came with my almost year old Delta saw for the third time and getting poor results I ordered this gauge. Once it was set to the saw I have not had to do anything but use it with great results, no more cut and recut to get the right angles on pieces, they fit right the first time.Should have thrown the other one after the fist time it broke. I am very pleased with Incra V120.

Very precise and adaptable miter gauge. My biggest issue was not realizing its thickness. my old table saw's channel is 1/8" shallower than the gauge so I had to have it machined down to fit properly in the groove. I am planning on using some 80/20 components to give this tool greater versatility.

Great deal for the price.
Excellent quality throughout, with the exception being the same thing everyone else has commented on; the leading edge of the plastic spacer on the bottom. I can't picture why you wouldn't want to have a small chamfer or radius along the leading edge of the spacer. That it doesn't means you have to disassemble the unit and put one on yourself. Otherwise, a nicely made tool that's well worth the money.

Super, but not for my table saw.
The Incra Miter Gage has all the features that I was looking for. It is made from metal, not plastic. It has an easy to read scale for making angle cuts. Easy to adjust. My problem was of my own making. The table saw I wanted to use it on was a low-end discount model and the Incra Miter Gauge didn't fit it. I am looking for a new table saw.

Not a Bad Tool to Have
Recently purchased this miter gauge because the indexing feature impressed me for keeping the fence square to the miter slot. It was a bit off when I did a 5-cut test but once I added a wood auxiliary fence and shimmed it, it was much better. The indexing slots are rough; I applied some light machine oil and that helped (for a while). It would help if Incra had a spring to keep tension on the indexing tooth lever for ease of engagement in the slot. Also, as mentioned by others, the wood fence has to be raised to clear the table.

I have another that I have incorporated in a jig for finger joints. I would not have done the "incorporation" if I had not over tightened and basically ruined the tool. That was one me but I thought enuff of it to order another and try to use it properly.
