What is the material of these inserts, and what tool is used to make a "custom" router bit hole? Thanks for the info.

BEST ANSWER: They are made of durable plastic, and I use a hole saw at slow speed in my drill press to make my custom holes.

The material is plastic. The best way to make the hole is to use a spiral router bit or a drill bit being careful to center it.

Closes off router opening in table
Placed this in the opening of the router table I build into my table saw wing to close the opening without removing the router and lift.

Just what I needed!
I needed to make a size for a particular route bit that I had. In making the size that I needed I was able to use the bit that I wanted. Very helpful to be able to just switch this disc for my woodworking projects.

This blank plate is flatter than the stock Benchdogs plate, it's a must have for routing smaller pieces.
The router plate that came with my Bench Dog lift was not flush and caused issues routing an even route on smaller pieces. I used a Forster bit to drill an 1 1/4" hole for my bit which I recommend using for cutting the opening in this plate. It's flat and produces a much more level route.

Great plate
I have 1 1/4" and 2 1/2" plates. I needed 2" plate but Rockler do not have one. So I drilled 2" hole on the plate, perfect.
