These are just the best.

These were the first kind of clamps I ever bought, and may be the only ones I ever buy. They work well and clamp tightly. One feature these have is the ability to turn the clamps around for use as a spreader. That's useful, but I found it works well to allow me to put the clamp into bench dog holes (by pulling off one end, feeding the bar through and reattaching the end) as a tabletop clamp.
Why didn't I buy these sooner

They Arrived in the morning. In the afternoon I tackled replacing the rub rail on our Boston Whaler. COULD NOT HAVE DONE THE JOB ALONE WITHOUT THESE CLAMPS!! I have a shop full of every type of clamp ... Bar, Jorganson, c-clamps of all sizes and these are now my go-to for most applications. Love the rubberized pads as I don't need that box of wood cut-offs any more.

These are sturdier than the long time earlier version. The pads swivel a few degrees which is helpful. I found that the movement of the handle on the rod was a bit sticky, so I gave a quick shot of WD40, let it dry, and all was fine; the locking mechanism didn't mind a bit, and they slid open and closed much more easily. Fine clamps.
