3 yr. Update --- Still awesome after all these years!
Posted January 12, 2014
After 3 years I still haven't found anything it won't handle. Did get the Kreg Fence setup with both re-saw guides and micro adjust. Also change the switch front out with a large 'paddle' Stop. Have been using the Highland Woodslicer (1/2") with awesome results ... minimal sanding on <3/32" oak, walnut and cherry veneers ... no noticable blade drift. Maybe I'm just not as picky as some, but the tension adjust knob and release lever haven't posed any issues with me as I've seen in reviews elsewhere.

Got this on the Black Friday sale. Been looking at it for a while. Seems that Jet put some real grassroots feedback into this one.1. Built in 12" resaw2. Carter style blade guides.3. Accessible tension relief & tension adjustment no more busted knuckles.4. 110/220 5. 2 speedsAssembly was a breeze Make sure you have a strong pal the 200 lb top end is not for the feint of heart. Makes it a real stable unit. Initial set-up was just as smooth. Still don't have a fence, but that has never stopped me in the past. A solid piece of hardwood and some clamps has worked for me for a long time. First re-saw went flawlessly ... 8" persimmon NO DRIFT AT ALL!!! I've heard nightmares about that. Blade changes were not bad ... can't imagine that ever being EASY. Just make sure you're ready to re-adjust the guides Upper are a cake walk, bottom ... tedious ... Still ... easier than blocks. No, Jet isn't paying me. They just have a winner here.

I'm an amateur woodworker with a home shop. I bought this bandsaw because I wanted a good bandsaw with the ability to do small resawing jobs but I didn't want to pay for the larger, more expensive saws. I also bought a Kreg fence and installed it.My test was as follows. I got a Lennox 3/4" bimetal blade, 2 tpi. I then took a piece of fiddle back maple 12" tall, 18" long and about 15" wide. I made three passes cutting 1" slabs. It performed very well! I was very pleased. I did have to go slow, but I expected that. The blade tracked very well and straight except right at the entrance to the cut. It had a bit of wobble until the entire blade got into the wood. After that it was very precise in it's cut.I am very pleased with my saw. It has performed well. I would buy it again in a minute.
