I'm on my third one of these flush trim bits. They seem to stay sharp a long time and have worked very well. The second one I purchased only worked for about ten minutes when the carbide seemed to explode when I was hogging out some Baltic birch plywood. I took it back to Rockler and they promptly replaced it. So you can also mark their customer service as excellent too! Thanks Rockler!

Purchased the bit to trim the ends of a bench that I am building. The top is too heavy and bulky for the table saw and too thick for my circular saw. With this bit, it took longer to make the template than it took to finish the ends. The best part was that almost no sanding or planing was required to complete the detail.

During a recent working vacation to the remote Alaska community of Tenakee Springs I had to build a set of stairs with ploughed stringers. After two brand new competitors pattern bits self destructed after ploughing through less than two feet of the virgin Douglas Fir, I ordered three replacements from Rockler (to be sure I had plenty). They were delivered on the fourth day after the order, (amazing) with the last leg of the trip being via float plane. One bit completed the work and is still in excellent condition.Excellent product and service.

I used the router bit to enlarge holes for wiring in a router table I am building. Original holes were 1 1/4 but the only grommets available were 1 1/2 inch. The easiest way to enlarge the hole was to make a pattern in a piece of hard board and use the pattern bit to enlarge the hole.

I'm cutting arches on 2-3/4" pieces of Red Oak clamped together. I use a jig saw to cut off the excess wood above the outline then use the router to form a perfect arch on both pieces at the same time. The patten bit works perfectly. Very happy with the price and quality of the product.

Today I spent, off and on,...
Today I spent, off and on, all day cutting the tenons in the tabletop for the attachment of the breadboard ends. The adventure began early in the day when, during the process of setting-up my tablesaw with a dado blade to make the cuts, I discovered that the top was too long to be accurately manuevered on my saw table. I did some head scratching and surveyed my router bit inventory until I came up with a 3/4" diameter pattern-cutting bit (with a top-mounted pilot bearing)that I'd purchased from Rockler. It was still in its wax-covering! After a bit of searching for a suitably FLAT piece of 1-1/2" thick wood for use as a template, I proceeded to cut the 3/8" thick x 1-3/16" long x 32" wide tenons on each end of the table top. By the end of the day I'd completed the work. The Rockler bit cut beautifully. I ended up with a HUGE pile of perfectly trimmed red oak shavings to attest to the sharpness of the bit. It paid for itself with this one job alone.

Like other Rockler brand bits, this bit was very smooth on oak and produced an excellent cut. I like this bit especially because of the 1 1/4" height which allows for easy jointing on a table or trimming with a handheld router. I can't yet write about the longevity of this or other Rockler bits because I haven't worn any of them out. I have learned over the years about the value and time saving of good tools and was skeptical at firts about Rockler bits but after using many of them I would definitely give them a thumbs up.

I ordered this bit online, and it came in the mail only 2 days after I placed the order regular shipping. After finally wrestling it out of the wax covering, I got to use it to shape parts for a CD holder. This router bit cuts amazing! it is extremly sharp, I didn't think it was possible to sharpen somthing that much! It cuts very smothly and quickly, while leaving almost a mirror finish. I later found out that it works equaly well to cut 3/4 inch dado. Overall, I am very happy with this router bit, it is my first Rockler brand router bit and I know I will ALWAYS buy from Rockler for all my router bit needs.

As a purchasing agent for my company, I bought three of these- two as stock bits for our two shops, plus an additional one for a specific project. The bit was used to replicate twelve tight- curving patterns in some 3/4" ACX Plywood. This bit had no problem smoothly cutting in one pass. The carpenter on the project was very happy with the stability that the 1/2" Shank provided.
