A specially formulated mix of pure oils, resins and driers, Nordic Oil produces a tough, durable finish on highly burnished surfaces such as turned bowls and vases. Non-toxic once dried, this product may be applied to surfaces that come into contact with food. Two coats produce a satin finish, while additional coats increase sheen.

I used this to finish a screwdriver handle for Rockler's 4-in-1 screwdriver kit. I used a kingwood blank also from Rockler, took it up to 600 grit 400 is recommended. I applied 7 coats a minimum of 2 is recommended of this Nordic Oil giving it 12-18 hours between coats 6-12 hours is recommended, sanding between coats as well as wet sanding each coat in, then wiping off the excess after 10 minutes. I had hoped the finish would build a little like a pure oil finish will, but it did not build at all. There was NO visual difference between 1 or 7 coats. The finish did not do the grain justice. If time is on your side, I would recommend a pure oil finish over this product. But if speed is a necessity this stuff will be better than nothing.
