I bought one of these 2 years ago and I wear it for several hours a day 5-6 days a week. This is one of the best values I have seen. First, it is COMFORTABLE! The cross-back feature makes all the difference, especially if you are wearing it as much as I wear mine. Second, the pockets are wonderful! I have everything I need with me at all times, pencils, tape measure, rules, squares, utility knife, etc. Third, it is durable. As I said, I've used mine for over two years almost every day. Only now am I considering replacing it with a new one. What a bargain.

I have tried shop aprons in the past (with fit/comfort and finish usually being the problem). The cross back support made the difference. I now reach for this first thing when I am in the shop (all my small common tools are ready and waiting in the pockets). Comfort and function, way to go Rockler!

Love it! Should have bought this years ago. I'm the worlds worst at misplacing my pencil or tape measure, etc. Now I keep all everything handy, not to mention what a difference it makes when it comes to saving my clothes from stains and glue. Extra pockets always come in handy. Very comfortable.

I have ruined many sets of clothes due to stains, glues, etc. My dad had purchased one of these and had it in his shop while I was visiting. I tried it out and thought wow this is just what I need. I returned home and purchased one the next day. It is well made very easy on your neck and fits greats. The only thing that I don't care for is the saw dust does collect in the pockets but evey few days at the end of the day I just blow the pockets out with the air hose. This is a great product at a reasonable price. Also no more chips and saw dust in my pants pockets....My wife surely likes this part!

Mine arrived in perfect condition, fitted me perfectly, holds my most used measuring and marking tools perfectly, keeps the dust and chips off my front perfectly. Only thing that is not perfect is the Aussie mongrel wearing it. ME!!! After having used it, I wouldn't like to be without it now. IT's A GREAT BUY.

Bought this for my husband to use while making wood furniture. He loves it! Has lots of pockets to keep simple tools on hand and keeps his clothes clean. I love it because there's no more jean pockets full of sawdust!! :

Needs flip-up flaps on the waist pockets to keep sawdust out. Pencils fall out of top pockets when you bend over, unless clipped in securely. Otherwise very nice.

Just what I was looking for at a reasonable price. Plenty of pockets! I would not mind if it were a simple over the head neck piece with a waist strap instead of the cross back straps and waist strap. It is probably my distorted brain but I keep getting my arms through the wrong loop when putting it on. Also, I wish the pockets were built out from the apron and fitted with some sort of mesh bottom to allow sawdust and chips to fall out of the pockets.

I struggled with apron! I always felt they were a great accessory to woodworking, but they never seemed to be worth the neck aches they would cause. I gave the Rockler apron a chance. Boy, oh, boy! it is very, very comfortable. My tape is always with me I don't put it down on the work bench and then walk off nearly as often as I have done in the past as well as my pencil. And the aching neck? GONE! What a pleasure. The only thing I had to get used to, was putting it on. Because of the design which I do love you may need to take a second to figure how to put it on. It's not difficult to do, just different. I give this amazing accessory A BIG 5 stars.

Very nice product! Easily the most comfortable shop apron I've ever worn. I do wish that the waist straps were sewn all the way to the edge of the apron but a little fabric glue took care of that.

This apron is amazing. I never wore an apron before, I had one but it was very ineffective always getting in the way and not very comfortable. I should have bought this long ago! Plenty of storage I'm always reaching for a square and found the perfect pocket to fit mine. The cross back straps make you feel like nothing is there. The leg split is great and enables for movement to not be restricted. This is my best purchase in months! Thanks again Rockler!

Very comfortable apron. Best one I have found thus far. My only improvement would be that it goes a little longer. I am a high school woods teacher and wear this on a daily basis for roughly 180 days a year. I just bought my second apron because the one previous to this met my expectations and lasted almost 3 years of abuse. The previous one is actually still being used by me at home it is just to grungy looking to be professional at school.

Great apron. I am 5'7" but was able to adjust it to fit me well. The leg split allows me to sit comfortably when scrolling and the apron catches the dust that normally accumulated in my lap. The pockets are very handy and after a few moments I found a very effective way to put it on. Very happy with my purchase.

I love this Apron, it is very durable. I where it all the time when im out in the garage working on some of my projects. I'm always forgetting where i put things once i use it. the big pockets help with keeping often used tools such as a tape measure, a pencil, your safety glass, etc close at hand.

The cross back design sold me! I wear mine for work and the old behind the neck design would kill me after 8 hours. My only grievance would be to have inside pocket loops to hold my tools upright in the pockets. Great product anyway!

Once I determined how to put it on I found it to be very comfortable. I broke it in this last weekend, plenty of sawdust and sweat, so now it feels great. It beats the heck out of that clumsy, clanking toolbelt and it is 100% more comfortable. Thanks for offering such a great product for the self-proclaimed wookworkers and handymen/women.

The cross-back design is extremely comfortable. My retired apron hung on my neck and if I didn't have a collared shirt on it cut into my neck, even without much in the pockets. The length is perfect and the pockets are very large/useful.
I like that the pockets don't gape open and collect dust.
I miss having a hammer loop but can put my stubby hammer in the large left pocket any problems going in or coming out; likewise with my tape measure. I had a nice clip on my last apron but the pockets on the cross-back are very accommodating.
My biggest complaint is that the denim bleeds off onto my clothes when sweating.

Excellent in all aspects of functionality. Would have preferred more substantial wider and comfortable straps and a tad more length on the waist strap for the horizontally challenged.

As good as expected from the other reviews. Love the cross back design. I do wonder why the belt-level straps aren't sewn to the edge... must be some reason! Works just fine the way it us. Good weight of material - durable and still soft. I use this for working on my bicycles - biggest problem is setting down a tool and not having it handy when you next need it. now it just gets slipped into one of the generous pockets. Really great apron!

The apron is very well designed. The top pockets hold small tools and measurement devices. The lower pockets hold larger tools. The cross-back design is comfortable and wraps the apron around your sides. The material is strong but washable. This is a must-have for a woodworker.

This is the 5th apron I've bought for my shop work! The others either had pockets that were too shallow, only a loop around the head (giving great neck pain after wearing it for just a little while) or too clumsy (the place for my tape measure was way down on the bottom of the apron, so that it was pushed up and off of the metal holder when I needed to squat down)! This apron is so good that I don't even know I'm wearing an apron; I just know that the tools I need are where I expect them to be! Good Job Rockler!

Sorry I don't give anyone a maxed out review, it leaves no room for improvement!
This shop apron is a very good one. no complaints on it's quality. It's very hard to find a long one with as much quality as this one!
I do have a suggestion though.
Maybe a longer version! At least to the knee or about 34-36" long. Us tall people sure could use one.
Just take this one and add 12" to it.
My 2 cents.
Thanks Rockler!

Great design and construction; the material is heavy enough to provide protection from those unavoidable shop hazards, the cross-back design is easy to wear, and the large pockets are great for holding rulers, pencils, safety glasses - whatever. I liked mine so much I bought one for my father for Christmas... and he likes his, too.

This is a very good apron at a good price. The cross-back straps are very comfortable and the quick connect buckles for the behind the back strap make taking it on and off quick and easy. The pockets are handy and roomy. The only thing that kept this from an Excellent rating was the lack of flaps over the pockets. You will end up with pockets full of sawdust.

Having spent years as a printer, in an apron similar to this, I was glad to find them at Rockler. I could suggest an improvement, a short flap over the bottom pockets; some days I have more sawdust than tools in there!

This is a great apron. Very durable material, big pockets in the right places. It took some practice to learn how to get it on without a mirror to look at, but I am good at it now. I shopped features and price on several shop aprons and this one can't be beat.

I've given my new cross-back apron a month of use and it's earned a place and it's own hook in my workshop. Carrying small tools in the large lower pockets isn't a pain in the neck with the shoulder strap design. And they're deep enough that I don't have to worry about them falling out, even when I sit down. That brings to mind the split front design that let's me catch most things that fall in my lap, and also lets me straddle my stool without catching when I leg over it. The chest pockets are real handy for holding my pencils, a 6" rule and give me a slot for holding onto my glasses. It sure is nice not to have to fumble around behind my back trying to tie it around my ample waist . The buckles are large enough to easily fasten or unfasten behind my back. With all its plusses it didn't take long for this apron to find a home.

I would have like more smaller pockets/holders, especially for tiny items like pencils, nail sets, etc. And I would have liked holders (vs. pockets) so that I could see the small item without having to dig thru one large pocket after another to find-by-feel the desired tool.

The cross back shop apron has been more than I could imagine. It is very comfortable, their is no pulling on the neck. I am a leather tool bag kind of guy so was hesitant to buy an apron. The problem was my pants and shirts were always taking a beating. I couldn't be happier with this product. the number and depth of the pockets helped ease the transition from tool belt to apron for shop-intensive work. Great product and I would highly recommend it to others.

Great value! Well designed, with lots of pockets and easy latch (no tying bows behind your back). Good, heavy fabric should wear well. The cross-straps are very comfortable, though I had a little trouble figuring out how to get in and out of it smoothly. Wraps around the hips for full protection. I no longer clip my tape to my belt -- I just took the clip off and now I drop it in my far right pocket. Pencil pocket is lower than some, which I find handy, since I have a full beard. I'm glad I bought two.

This apron is great! The cross-back (over shoulders) style is SOOO much nicer then the neck strap apron that I had been using. Very comfortable and durable - I actully do a lot of cooking too and I am thinking of getting another for the kitchen, as the neck-apron I use in the kitchen can get painful after an hour or so and has no pockets. The pockets are roomy and well placed. Bernie from Nashville is right - just grab the straps at the "x" and put it over your head. After you do it two or three times, you don't even have to think about it. Great apron at a great price too!

My old apron was just that, old and worn out. I like an apron as it really saves my street clothes from stain, paint and just plain shop dirt. I do it all, cut sand solder, shape metal and this apron is really comfortable with the strap off the neck. Thanks Rockler.

I like wearing an apron in the shop, but [a]neck strap [style which this is not]hurts my neck, especially in the summer. The Rockler apron with the crossed shoulder straps is terrific. It takes some time to adjust the straps, but it is well worth the time. A good tip is not to try and put you arms through the shoulder straps. You should hold the straps at the "x" and put it over your head, much as you would a regular apron.

As others have commented it is a little clumbsy to put on and I have to fiddle with it a bit to get everything straightened out. Mine came with one of the straps twisted - so I had to restring it to straighten it out. Material seems sturdy - a much better color would be tan. Pockets are roomy and although flaps would help to keep sawdust out of them I wouldn't care for the trade off of less convenient access. For me the pencil pockets are a bit tight - I seem to carry around lots of pens and pencils. The coverage to the knees is good. To sum up: it's not perfect (but then what is?) however, it is functional and I can live with the drawbacks.

It's a good apron. To make it even better I suggest two changes: make it from a lighter fabric (sawdust really shows on dark denim), and add flaps over lower pocket, so it wouldn't catch chips and other debris flying from the machines.

I found the apron to be very comfortable to wear. The quality of the material is excellant and it will stand up to normal wear and tear like a nice pair of blue jeans. The only problem I have found is there are no flaps on the large front pockets, so in time you will find your pockets full of sawdust. A small price to pay for an otherwise excellant product.

Comfortable. Good design. Material is denim like a pair of unwashed blue jeans- perhaps a little stiffer- but as I think it should be. Comfortable to slip on with cross straps. Easy to connect the waist strap in back. Good usable pockets. Split leg design makes it more functional, too. Now, being cheap, I should think we would get a price break by advertising Rockler on the front!

Everything is great with this appron except the ties could be longer. I adjusted them to the maximum length and they're just barely long enough. I am 6'1" and weigh about 250 lbs. Other than this I would give it a 5.

I bought this apron because of the exceptional pockets. The four large pockets along the bottom are priceless. They are perfect for carrying a lot of things and keeping them all organized. The chest pockets are also well designed and extremely useful. Personally, I am happy that there are no flaps over the pockets, because I wouldn’t want to have to ‘open’ a pocket every time. The cross-back design is very comfortable under most circumstances however it did not work for me. It seems that I bend and lean a lot at my job and found that one or the other of the straps kept falling over my shoulder. I simply cut the cross-straps off the back and reconfigured them with the existing clips to form an around the neck design. This works much better for me.
